    Question

Is it more cost effective to re-gas a 10 year old under counter freezer or buy new. my client has a matched pair with same fridge unit. I am trying to convince to buy new. As I don’t carry out gas work I have not got a clue of cost of regassing such an old appliance.

    thoughts welcome

    Why does it need re-gassed?

TBH it would probably be more cost-effective to replace if there’s no issues with the size etc.

    Hi
10yr old is probably using R12 refrigerant which is now illegal to use as engineers to re-gas. You can convert to allow a drop-in refrigerant but I would agree with Ken, cheaper to replace and have a guarantee on the whole appliance.
