New Washer Drier with Height Reduction Kit

Hi

Our current Hotpoint Washer/Dryer has given up the ghost, so I’m after a replacement. However, we have a restriction with the height the machine can be (approx 80cm). Our existing model had to have the feet taken off, which wasn’t ideal.

Can anybody advise me of any <£500 washer dryer that is available to buy that either is <80cm or has a height reduction kit available to buy for it?

I’ve read online that Bosch have a number of models with height reduction kits available, but I cannot see where to order them. Our local John Lewis said that THEY couldn’t get them, but to try online.

I think you’ll find most will use the full 850mm height due to the increase in drum capacities because, to do that, every bit of space is needed.

Even if you used a reduction kit (if you can get one that is) then you’d only drop maybe 20mm or so, little more.

In other words, I don’t think you’ll be able to get it under that magic 800mm requirement.

The height reduction kit fits all Bosch washer dryers. You can order it on line direct from Bosch spares here It will drop the height to 810mm with the feet screwed in.

Any local Bosch partner dealer will be able to order it for you as well.

Thanks very much indeed for the very quick replies and advice.

I may be able to get it a machine in that’s 810mm (I was being very conservative when I stated <80cm). I'll get my tape measure back out.

It’s good to know that that Bosch part fits ALL washer/dryers, so it seems that if 810mm is OK then Bosch is the way to go.

Just re-measured the space for the machine and I can get a 835mm high machine in there. I assume I’m still going to need a height reduction kit on a Bosch machine for this (as all the machine seem to state 850mm exactly)??
