    Hi All,

moved into a new build back in 2018 which came with fitted white goods and over the years all but the dryer has been problematic, but I was able to source parts for or it righted it self… all are Lamona.
In the last 4 months the washer has exhibited many problems like display going black, or all lights flashing to not responding to anything. From investigating online the prognosis is control board.
Given the history of this washer I am inclined to buy a replacement, I know repair/recycle, but this darn thing has been a real pain so feel time to cut to the chase and get something else, which is where I hope you will be able to offer sage advice.
i’ve had Smeg, and never want to go near them again. Bosch and although ok wasn’t great at the time (2009).
I then got a Miele and that was only let go due to the move to the new house with fitted white goods.. the family member who took it has only recently replaced.

so in the last decade or so is there any brand I should be considering, performance over budget, which will last?
    wants…
    integrated
able to add something once started (within reason).
    1400 to 1600 spin

if possible want to avoid auto dose, we can add our own detergent etc. although I like technology, I fail to see the need for a wifi enable washer.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

the whole domestic appliance market is now price orientated instead of quality. Driven by consumers who want to pay as little as possible

Top of the tree is Miele , next down is Bosch Neff and Siemans (same machine ). Going down from the is probably electolux which is Aeg ,Zanussi

then the lower makes such as Hoover, Hotpoint and Beko. A lot of Lamona products are Beko in disguise and Beko has a 2 year guarentee for a registered appliance

As for adding stuff, A lot of machines these days use an instant door lock. If the water level is low enough it will allow you to pause the programme and the door will unlock

you dont say if we are dealing with just a washer or is the machine a washer dryer
also some of the symptoms you describe can be caused by a faulty plug socket

    Thanks for the reply.
    just need a washer..

a faulty socket, never considered that as a possibility. I can swap round with the dryer or fridgefreezer and see what happens.

    again many thanks
