ParticipantHi
I’m looking at buying my first washing machine and i’ve narrowed it down to the following 3. Could someone please give me some tips?
Hoover 1400 Spin Washing Machine
£188.98Hoover 1600 Spin Washing Machine
£219.95BOSCH WAE28162 1400
£249.99I’ve heard that Bosch are suppose to be more reliable, but is it really worth spending about £60 on getting a Bosch rather than a Hoover?
Any recommendation?
Thanks

The Hoover machines are really Candy, the Bosch may well be made in Spain or even China, but will certainly be made to a higher standard and comes with a full two year g/tee.
Have a read of these articles before you make up your mind.If the machine is intended for long term ‘normal’ family use then if you add £50 to £75 to your budget you will then be in the better quality section of the market.

Thanks for replying and that link is most useful.
The three listed above are all in the ‘sales’, which i dont usually have much faith in. But from searches on the Internet everywhere else i’ve found has been dearer on those machines.
Out of the three which would you recommend?
Are there any other machines in particular you would recommend in the next price bracket? I cant really find any in the £250-£350 bracket that seem any better to me – but then i dont know anything about them….Thanks again.

There is no question, Bosch every time compared to Hoover/Candy. You will see from those articles that sadly all the major ‘British’ brands are now in the hands of the Italians, 😥 fantastic food but their low end domestic appliances leave a great deal to be desired in terms of quality and reliability. Mid to higher priced Electrolux-Zanussi & Whirpool are reasonable.

Thanks.
After another look the only one i could see that seemed reasonable was a Zanussi 1600 for £299. I think i’ll order the Bosch one then.
Thanks again.
