New washing machine but which one??

Hi,
Looking out for a new washing machine as my Hotpoint has “popped its’ clogs”. I had it for just over 5 years and with 2 kids in the house it has probably had quite a bit of work.

I’m considering buying another Hotpoint but a Bosch seems to be better built with better components. Max. spend will be ~£250 – £28.

Can anyone give me any advice?

Remember that a decent washing machine was almost £250 over 20 years ago, that is why I am still repairing Hotpoint and Hoover machines that are 15 to 20 years old and condemning machines that are much younger these days. Since the take over of most major ‘British’ brands by the Italians, quality has gone downhill in a big way.

If you budget for nearer £350 you should then get a machine that could easily last 10 years or more, do the maths and you will see it makes sense.

Cheers for this. The Bosch one and the Hotpoint one are in C*rrys for ~£330 each but I can find them elsewhere for £270 & £280. The question is whether they are decent good machines or not??
