New washing machine c£1k – auto dosing virgin

Hi,

I need to recommend a new washing machine for my daughther who is getting her first house.

Budget is c£1K but reasonably flexible. Really want a 10 year warranty if possible.

I was obviously looking at the a Miele as we no longer have ICE appliances.
Is there anything else that can be considered in the same vane as a Miele?

Also, I’m tooing and froing about telling her to get one with auto dosing. I know Miele detergent is hideously expensive but I also know that you can use
generic detergents. Can you still use powder?

Her and her partner are very time pressed management so they may well opt for the auto dosing option.

I’ve heard and read various sides to the systems. (I personally would not get one but each to their own)

So in a nutshell.

from what i have heard auto dosing is just something else to clog and go wrong. its really not a lot of effort to put your own detergant in

Thanks Dave. I’m of the same mind. I’ll just get a few Miele models that fit the 10 year warranty with and without auto dosing and she can make her own mind up.

Time pressed, how long does it take to put detergent and softener in, ten to fifteen seconds. She still has to put each load in.;)

New Miele, without autodosing arrived and fitted. Looks mint. Hope she’s happy. I’ll see it when we visit when Covid regs allow us to visit
