I have a New World Richmond Si600 cooker.
The electrical ignition fails to function, and I can’t locate the batteries. Before I strip the cooker down, appreciate if anyone can point me to the location of these so I can replace them. Thanks.

    Re: New World battery replacement

Depending on the version (model required CKG???) most Richmond cookers are mains powered ignition so there will be no battery.

If that is the case, you’ll need to call a Corgi registered engineer to repair this for you.

Check the repairs@ link below, should that fail, the Corgi website has a list of engineers also at:

Thanks for that, Dave. Unfortunately this cooker is definitely battery powered (CKG 21118) – there is a circuit diagram on the back of the cooker showing where the batteries are in the cct, but not the location of them.
Have had the hob off, and the back plate, and can see wires disappearing to the base of the cooker – where I will be disappearing to shortly!!

    No need !

The battery is in a case (plastic holder) left hand side right near the floor in the plinth, opening the oven door will make it easier to see 😀
