Participantwhen i knocked these bearings out there were 2 bearings and a seal but the kit on ukw has two bearings and two seals, where does the other one go?
also do you think i could get away with re-using the original spider, it s not in bad nick, not particularly corroded but i thought i would just see if the old bearings would go back on it, the larger one will but the smaller one wont go on at all. could this be because the`ve gone out of shape with all the smacking with a hammer and punch? there is some light speckly rust on the shaft. i don`t think i damaged the shaft end because i used a peice of three by two and a lump hammer to knock it out of the old bearings, it was not easy to get out of the old bearings. it would be nice if i didn`t have to fork out for a new spider but if i have to i`ll have to!January 20, 2011 at 7:40 pm #341938iadom

You now have five different threads which all relate to the same machine/problem. :rolls:
It makes sense to keep it all in one thread rather than keep opening a new one every time, that just leads to confusion with different people answering different threads. 😉 8)

Any more threads, it won’t be Stryder, it will be Spider.

can i delete these threads? Not a problem, its just that if you keep it to the same or first thread then all of the people who have answered your posts will in most cases get an automatic notification of your subsequent posts. It will also have a natural progression.
If you start another thread it might get missed by the people who tried to help in the first place, and if you add a post to an old thread it will automatically go to the top of the forum list under the stickies and back onto the scrolling XML feed on the home page. 😉
If you really feel up to it you could go back to your first thread and update it with your later posts first and then either delete all of the others or ask me and I will tidy things up for you. 🙂
Sadly we do have a facility to split posts but until the revolution ( VB coming soon 😉 ) we cannot merge them.
Jim.
