Firstly, apologies if this has already been answered (I’ve already searched the forums, but probably missed an answer).

The drum has stopped spinning on my Hotpoint WM63 washing machine. It takes on water OK and drains it out after, but whenever the timer gets to the stage of having to turn the drum, nothing happens.

From reading the forums it looks like the first suspect should be the motor brushes, however having taken the panels off to take a look, I couldn’t see any obvious way to take the brushes out.

Am I right in thinking that the little white thingies on either side of the motor housing are the brushes? If so, does anyone have an idiots guide to taking them out and replacing them?

    Many thanks!

The easy way to pop them out is with a small flat screwdriver and pair off pilers and remove leads off the brushes refit is just push them in but u got to pull tags up 1st then reconnect wire and away she goes.
DONT FORGET TO PULL THE PLUG

Thanks for the advice, I’ll give that a go tonight.
