Hello, my partners DIshwasher has an intermittent fault that appears at 22 mins from end of cycle. It makes a loud hi pitched squealing noise which actually wakes her up!!! It sounds like motor bearings, I think. The machine does not advance any further but doesn’t turn itself off. The machine is heating water and pumping out ok. My question is this: is the drying phase active ie any fan involved? If not, any ideas what could be the problem? It’s not doing it every time, either! It’s doing my head in!!!!

It could be the motor bearing though that would be apparent all the way through the cycle. Something caught in the drain pump chamber is the more likely. Remove the pump cover and inspect carefully for foreign objects (torchlight will help) and make sure you secure the pump cover back before using it. 😉
