ParticipantWent to customer today with h2o error on a WIE157.
He had previously phoned Indesit who said that the h2o error could be sorted by running the machine with their descaler. He was then told if the problem wasn’t rectified by the descaler they would take the cost of the descaler off the call-out charge of their engineer. 😉
The customer received 2 boxes of 10 sachets which cost him over £20. 😯
Obviously the sachet didn’t sort it as h2o is a fill time out which is not due to a blockage.
The fault was an OC cold valve.
Were Indesit trying to be helpful or was this a clever way of flogging descaler and getting their engineers out ❓
Has anyone else had this???

Yep. i had it with Hotpoint washer dryer. Customer said exactly the same thing! It was a pair of pants in the sump hose/ trap would need super strong descaler to shift that. I think its a delaying tactic to make their call out delay not seem so bad.

Yep it’s true to form in this area, customer rings Hot/Ind. with d/w problems, immediately talked into buying two packs of cleaner, what a scam, bloody spaghetti munchers. I suppose it beats the old Hoover? scam of years ago, engineers selling christmas tree’s 😉 or was it Servis 😕

Oh yes it was Servis.
I used to work for Servis (in the good old days 1982-1988)
When we were taken over by Porth decorative (Alf Gooding), the emphasis was more on selling Xmas stuff than repairing appliances lolRichard
