    Hi

My “New World” “Series Two” hob has been losing gas pressure intermittently for the last few days. I suspect the lid shutoff valve. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Are such valves susceptible to crumbs and debris or do they often just wear out?

Any guidance would be gratefully accepted.

    Eddie,

Almost certainly associated with the lid safety valve I’m afraid and will need professional attention from a CORGI REGISTERED REPAIRER. Many models within this range are OBSOLETE so if you give us the exact model number we could check for you 😉

The shut off valve is obsolete for this model, but it could be just sticky, normally grease builds up around then and they jam either open or closed.

As Martin says, call a Corgi engineer to have a look at it for as it may not need a new valve.

Oh dear I can’t find a listing for that model at all 🙁 . I assume it is a seperate gas hob and not attached to a cooker? How old is it anyway I wonder?

P.S There are two such WE5702NOO listed but not with the Gas Council number (GC1164524) you gave. Nevertherless those 2 versions do show the parts as being obsolete 🙁

Thanks v much for your advice. It’s certainly not new so I’m sure you are right about it being obsolete.
