ParticipantI have no heat coming from my creda tumble dryer Model no:T601CW. The dryer is around 8 years old and had previously had parts replaced at 5 years old. Would i be better buying a new dryer? If so which make for efficiency and reliablility. Or would i be better buying new parts? If new parts which parts do I need and where are they located on the machine. Thanks for any advice given

Probably needs a thermostat kit:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Tumble+D … t+Kit.htmlThese stats are mounted on the heater assembly which is accessed by removing the back cover. Try to remove any build up of fluff as it can lead to poor air flow and premature thermostat failure.

I have taken the back cover off and found the element in pieces. How do you remove the wiring from the element?

Managed to get the element off. If i replace the 3 thermostats and the heating element, should it fix the problem or is there anything else that can cause the dryer not to heat up

If the element has clearly failed you might as well just change that initially. As you say, there are 3 thermostats but it is nearly always the 2 on the heater that fail so there would be no point in changing all 3. You can check them for continuity with a multimeter set to a low ohms range or equivalent. They should be short circuit at room temperature.

Thanks for all the help guys, im going to order the parts today. The heater part on the shop part of the site does not mention that the thermostats come with it.

Unlike Hoover, Whirlpool etc. I don’t think the Creda / Hotpoint heaters do come with the stats. Sometimes these heaters can be damaged by vibration from a washing machine next to or under the dryer. If the washer is on spin when the dryer element is heating, the vibration can shake the element to pieces. It is therefore best in such situations to only run one appliance at a time.
