    Hi,

I have a compact Zanussi dishwasher that won’t power up. It ‘died’ the same day that we had a momentary power outage, could be related, but whatever it was didn’t trip the distribution board RCB and there is no sign of a leakage to earth on the appliance. Main fuse has been checked, no sign of a thermal fuse, but as it’s virtually impossible to access anything other than door based components there could be one somewhere that I can’t see. Door switch continuity checked and OK, but there is no power to it, which I thought a little strange, as there is power to the control board, and I would have thought it would be the door switch controlling power to the control board rather than the other way around.

I’ve done probably all I can without buying a new board or skipping it. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

    Hi,

Mine’s just done exactly the same on 13/14th May overnight. If there was a trip of the electrics, it didn’t affect anything else.

Had an electrician to look at it and pulled out the power board. There’s a large green resistor at R83 that’s burnt and cracked, and the IC at U3 has half the top blown off!

I’ve mailed their support, and got nothing. I’d urge you to contact them, so they know this isn’t a one off.

Hoping to identify the green resistor so I can spend £5 myself and repair it, rather than £190 for a repair 😡

Photo of the resistor – any help in identifying much appreciated
