ParticipantHello,
I have bought a new heater element for an AEG 86741 washing machine. I was told that this was the replacement part for this make and model, however, there is no seperate thermister on it like there is on the old one..? I had to order the part over the phone, and assumed that the replacement would be exactly the same…. Is there a heater available with a seperate thermister, or am I missing something..?Cheers……

A few of questions,
What is the PNC (product number) of your machine?
What is the part number of the new heater?
Where did you buy it from?

The heater (Part No: 1321020206) comes with a built in NTC (not sold seperately).

Hi Guy’s
I ordered it from Connect….. I have just now been set up with the on line account there, and when I put the part number into the search as given by iadom, it comes up with a heater with Thermister as stated, so I have been sent the wrong ****** part..!! My first order goes wrong…! I hope this is not a sign of things to come…lol..
Although the part number search came up with the correct heater, the number it has been given by connect is different on their site is a different one, why is the number as given by iadom not displayed.? surely it would make things a little clearer.! iadom, where did you get the part number from for my future reference please..?Thanks a lot….

I hate to tell you this…………but I fear your association with Connect will be frought with difficulties, blind alleys and a guy with a strong Brummie accent phoning you once a week asking after your health. 😈

Yes, iadom, you are correct, where I put iadom in my reply, it should have been Martin…. sorry Martin for my fopar…. much obliged to you all anyway, and for the swift responce… I have to say, I seem to be getting the impression that the saga behind the ‘wrong’ part I received from Connect is not something out of the ordinary…!! Well, thanks again chaps…fore armed is fore warned….
Can I ask you Martin where you got or found the part number for the heater for this machine please, or indeed any machine for that matter… for my future reference…. I am just starting out in this field, and I have the feeling I will be on here a lot in the future… 😐March 14, 2012 at 4:16 pm #370995Martin

In this instance Mark directly from Electrolux TDS online. (TDS stands for Technical Documentation System by the way).
Looking up spare parts from each and every manufacturer is a nightmare. I enjoy access to all BSH group, Hoover/Candy group and Electrolux group products. In addition to that I have accounts with Qualtex and Masterpart (wholesalers. I got well pi$$ed off with Connect years ago so don’t go near those wallies personally…don’t need to)
So basically the names mentioned above comprehensively cover my business services and I obtain all the info I need to run my business from them all.
Starting out, as you appear to be doing right now, then the likes of Connect as a multi brand wholesaler may just be what you need at this stage. Though you will need to branch out and expand your access to other suppliers should the need arise in the future.
I wish you all the luck in the world in your new venture by the way. 😀

Mark, for Electrolux group info, go to:
http://shop.electrolux.co.uk/node535.aspx
You get 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} disount if you order by phone.
Martin, how do you access Hoover/Candy parts data? Do you have an account with them?

Thanks a lot for the info and assistance guys and gal…much appreciated..
I took your advice Martin, and looked around for other suppliers etc, and found a few, and they are cheaper than Connect to…. so I have ordered the heater from one of them…
Thanks again all….. -
