ParticipantI know this has been asked before but is there no upgrade that can get rid of ths message coming up when you search for posts since last visit or when you try and see the second page when you search.
There was a post about a week ago about wanting people to use the search facility more often to prevent asking a question that had been answered before, but if the answer is not on the first page then you can`t see it.
It seems to be happening more often now in my opinion and its very frustrating.
Failing this is there a way of setting your search to ignore the public forums, as I don`t give advice in these, and therefore cutting down the number of results it would find and maybe getting them all on the first page?

I agree, it is very frustrating.
All I can do is ask that you bear with me, I am REALLY trying to sort this out and, over a drink of an evening, I may tell the long story of how and why it is the way it is. Some of it is and interesting tale and some of it is techno babble that no-one is really interested in unless you live in a darkened room with a PC and are considered by many to be a geek.
Oh, that would be me. 😕
The bugs are with the “locked down” version of phpBB that we use. They are locked due to security concerns which are now throwing up other security concerns from a logon point of view, hence I’ve been on here at least 12 hours a day combating potential spammers of late. Its a war. I intend not to be the loser and that’s the way I see it. It is however both time consuming and frustrating.
I am awaiting word on the cure and, if all goes to plan, it should be worth waiting for. But, like any IT project, when the dude says it’ll take ten minutes, think ten days.

Err yes, 😉
The second panel on the search page, Search Options , allows you to set search parameters, by forum and category. 🙂
