ParticipantHi,
i noticed my dishwasher wasn’t making the same noises it usually makes when it’s on, it was much quieter than usual. I opened the door, and there didn’t seem to be any water being splashed around, in fact all the crockery was dry. I checked the connection to the water source and it seems fine, the drain is clear and I think the instant water heater is working….but i just don’t think water is going through it for some reason…can anyone help me please?
It is a Bosch SRS43C12GB/14
Slimline 45cm dishwasherThank you very much

Hi
With the appliance unplugged, have you checked with a suitable meter that the fill valve at the rear hasn’t blown?Greg

Hi Greg,
thanks for replying. I’m not sure at all what you are talking about! Could you explain what I need to do?! I’ve also read about other people in this sort of situation (i think) and they have taken panels off to see if motors are running et al. Can you explain how I actually do this. I’m good with taking things apart and putting them back together, but I don’t want to make any mistakes.
Thanks
T

Hi
Im sorry but we are unable to give verbatim fault location and fixing.
What I will say is that the fill valve is at the rear, and you will need a suitable ohm meter to see if you have any reading on the valve solenoid.Greg

I think it’s a little outside my expertise (clearly a lack thereof).
Thanks anyway!

Hi
You can always find a suitable engineer from the link below, if required 😀Greg

Hi,
this is a bit weird, wondering if you can shed some light on it!
I was trying to clean out the bottom of the dishwasher (some salt and a few specs of rice) so I filled a kettle and sloshed water in. I did it twice, and for no real reason I tried the dishwasher again and it started to work, i heard water being slashed around, and after an hour or so it was done and the dishes were clean.
I then tried a shorter wash, in an empty dishwasher, and it didn’t work….tried the same technique as before (basically filling the base with a bit of water) and it seemed to work again.
Does this make sense? Is it just a coincidence!?
Thanks

The latter 😉
I would add to the advice you have already received from Gegsy in that your machine requires a bit of expert attention. Pouring water into the machine will have little or no effect. Likely as not either the inlet valve has failed or the transfer hose to the sump is gunged up? The latter can be cleaned with a small bottle brush having removed the filters. There is an inlet in the 6 o’clock position and the transfer hose runs into that inlet from the left hand side. If you very carefully push the bottle brush into the pipe and loads of black gunge comes out, your problems are solved. 😉
If not? Then best call in an expert to check out the valve and other components when they’ve got it in bits. See link below for local help. 🙂
