Yes – I know what everyone says about washer dryers – but at the time we bought it we were just a couple and could not justify the money or space for a separate dryer 🙁
In general this is a very well made machine but has recently started being very noisy while drying. I have traced this down to what looks like a small “turbo” unit (in the top right corner at the back) that appears to be the fan that blows air across the heater and into the drum for drying. This now makes a “metal on metal” grinding sound, that I am guessing is probably the bearings but may be more serious damage inside the fan.
Apart from the noise it still seems to dry as well as it ever did (which I admit is not great).
If I have identified this part correctly then it appears to be the “ventilator unit” that is only available as a complete unit for about £80 – but I can’t find a picture on line to confirm whether that is the correct item.
