Noisy and smelly washing machine

Hi my washer has started being really noisy all the way through a cycle but even worse on the spin. It also smells of burnt rubber. Any ideas?

Sounds like the bearings have gone. The burning rubber smell will be the drum rubbing on the seal when on high spin. You’re best not using it as you may stain the items you’re washing.

Make and model would help, a lot of machines on the market these days have totally sealed drums making most bearing repairs uneconomic.
