    Hi,

We’ve had the fore mentioned WMA63P (S/N – 01159082) for a number of years now, but in the last 6 months it has been very noisy on spin cycle. Having read a few posts on here I’ve taken a couple of covers off the machine and down below the motor there are lots of rusty coloured marks, which I guess means that at least one bearing/mechanical seal is away. Am I right?

Could somebody tell me if the bearings can be replaced as a DIY job or does the whole drum assembly need replacing?

    Many thanks for any assistance.

Demolition job to do anything on this one – tank has to come out. In theory, you can drive out the old bearings and seals and replace them. We recommend that you use a kit of parts including a replacement drum support, as this is often grooved or notched – this is part no. 1604770. Alternately, you can replace the tub rear half complete with new bearings and seals in place – this is p/no. 1603409. Finally, you can replace the whole drum and tank as an assembly, but the price makes this a non-cost effective solution.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering if you wish to proceed; alternately, click the link below to find a UKW engineer in your area.
