Noisy Kelvinator

Hello,

I have recently moved a Kelivinator fridge/freezer (a car journey and a somehwat clumsy journey up the stairs) and ever since it has been getting intermittently noisy with a motor vibration-type noise (sorry, I don’t know much about fridge noises).

This seems to be generally worse when the dial is higher. It can be temporarily quietened by turning the appliance off and back on, and even by tilting or pushing on the front, but it soon comes back.

Sorry, I don’t have the model number to hand, but I can find it if it’s important. I imagined that this is a somewhat generic problem…?

Any ideas?

It is very possibly a spring off the motor in the compressor which ain’t good news as it would require a replacement compressor to repair.

However if it’s a frost-free machine there could be other things that’s wrong.
