    Hi
Please can anyone help me with my “grumbling” dishwasher, when first switched on it rumbles away for a few minutes whilst filling then settles down O.K. It then rumbles away at intervals whilst progressing through its cycle.
You will see from the model number that it is getting on a bit (just like its owner) it’s about nine years old but it continues to work totally efficiently other than being intermittently noisy, it is spotless inside – all the filters look as new etc. Her indoors has looked after it well but has begun to apply pressure on me to have it seen to, by calling out the “repair man” . I’ve suggested that it has served us well and that we should let it rumble until its demise, then we will replace it with a new one.
I am thinking right or is there a simple solution to end the rumbles please.

Two pumps one drain one circulation. Machine starts off with drain first of all. one may be worn. unplug power if you are going to look yourself.

    THIS is what you want.

Old magnetic drain pumps rumble, grumble and screech quite merrily.

    Hi Penguin

Thanks for confirmation. Dish washer full of mucky pots at the moment, can I access the pump from inside the machine or do I need to take it out of the unit – it is fully integrated with meters of kickboard mastic etc. to be removed first. If the later and the grumbling does not seem to affect the operation of the machine I may be tempted to leave it till later, if so would this lead to eventual total failure of the machine with further damage please.
Thanks again for input – I’m extremely impressed with this “helpline” it’s the first time I’ve dabbled in this sort of communication.

    Regards jimnel

It’s a twist fit through the front, under the machine. Kick board away, decor door off, then the lower cover plate. Remove the corrugated hose (clean it while it’s off) for full access.

    Power off first, please.
