    Re: Not Looking Good

There is an article on the front page on this, as well as a running Hotpoint thread all relating to lay the offs. Blythe Bridge in Staffs is also affected.

Essentially, so far as I can tell from what I’ve read on it, UK mass production of whitegoods is living on borrowed time. 🙁

    Re: Not Looking Good

….Unless Indesit co-operate comprehensively with the trade as a whole, then it will only get worse for them. Alienating themselves by their current policies will only exacerbate the current situation. Their latest so called “sales drive” is to ‘inject’ more money into their existing Hotpoint Centre Network in the mistaken believe that simply selling more machines was the answer. Flooding the marketplace with unsellable shoddy goods is no way to run a business :con:

Hands up all those that recommended their good value products 5 or more years ago?

….and hands up those that would do the same today?

According to one of my all-salers, Indeshit have not been supplying the new machines on a regular basis. Drip, drip, a few here, a few there. Now they are laying off workers because they aren’t selling enough machines. Hmmmmmmmm. Something stinks! (and it aint me, im a clean goat)

At least they’ll always need repairing from the UK 😉
