Participanti sometimes get black spots the size of a felt tip grouped about 1 inch apart over a 6 inch area on my clothes Someone mentioned grease from failing bearings . Thats the thing you see the Bosch washer is only 3.5 years old and not been used a lot i have got abit of mould on the bottom of the seal and i am going to change that tomorrow. I thought maybe a good wash with vinegar and soda crystals next , Has anyonr got thoughts on this bearing theory, they sound quite good on full spin and not rough at all
thanks nobby :bang:December 21, 2008 at 9:37 pm #272189DDSDDS

very doubtful that its going to be bearings most likely mould few hot washes with soda crystals and regular maintenance washes should sort you out

thanks for the advise , i will do that and give it a good few “washes” with soda crystals and change the drum seal. i thought if it was the bearings and they are sealed by the looks, they would be rumbling if they got to the point of leaking grease dont you think?

have a read of this article.
door seal marks etcand the linked articles at the bottom of that article.
You don’t need soda crystals, a good quality powder or tablet that is not specifically designed for colours will do the trick.
If the soiling is really bad then this product Washing machine cleaner is very good.
If the bearing seal fails the water goes through the seal, damages the bearings leading to rusty stains down the back of the drum. It doesn’t leave black marks on the clothes. They are normally caused by the alloy drum support corroding due to overuse of detergents, particularly liquids and prolonged use of low temperature washes.
