    Hi guys.

Had knee surgery yesterday so as a sole trader am now on a forced period of convelesence…….consultant said three weeks, phyisio said six weeks but bank account says Monday 😀 .

I`ve been looking thru` the site since 7.30 this morning and am amazed at what is avalible as I don`t usally have this sort of time.

I`m amazed at the amount of time some people put into this site and feel quite humble.I really had no idea.
I feel my £70.00 WTA membership is money very well spent if only for the advice I get and being able to download the diagnostics book must be worth that alone.

I`ve always intended going to a meeting but always seem to have other things to do which of course is no excuse……..the last one in Coventry is virtually home turf for me.So I hope to make more effort for the next one.

This site is, for me, invaluable and since its conception has been a oasis of information and very good advice and long may it continue in this forever changing industry.

My other reason for writing is, is there a thread for other engineers responses to Connects Three month warrenty and is this to be the norm with other parts retailers.

    Best to all.

    Chris.

Thread on Connect guarantee is here: –

Definitely try and make it to the next meet in September – I know for those of us who are sole traders, it’s easy to see it as a days lost pay, but in reality the contacts and information you get at these meets is invaluable. Definitely stay over, though, you get much more out of it this way.

Plus those customers will always wait until Saturday/Monday!

I’ve given up on letting customers crack the whip. Had one landlord, very good customer, call me on Saturday and wanted someone out same day. Told her were too busy and would fit in Monday evening. She got into a strop, “I’m never using you again” etc. etc. Phoned back 15 minutes later to apologise and ask for appointment. Even got a £25 tip when I went out :).
