ParticipantWhen you paste to a topic you can select ‘Notify me when a reply is posted’ and get emailed when any related posts are made.
When looking through some of the posts you come across a topic thatβs of interest and you want to monitor any new posts.
Is it possible to set up notification without posting to that topic?
Keith.

That’s the third time I’ve been asked this recently and the answer is no I’m afraid Keith.
What I would suggest though is that you save the url for that particular post from the title bar in your browser as a favourite then each time you’re online you can check it π
I hope that makes sense π

A much easier way, although a little messy would be to post in the thread saying ‘interesting’ π If you then use Mailwasher you can delete anything you do not want to view before you download your messages.
Or you could use V Bulletin, π

Hello Jeeeeeeeeeeeem,
Sorry, it’s a foreign language…. If you post with the “notify” option “ON”, you’re then on the list.Easiest solution is just read all of it every day π .

I always have the notify option on, but there are occasional threads that I find interesting and try to remember to check back on them, memory not being what it was, a simple ‘subscribe to this thread’ button as found on V Bulletin forum software and others is very useful. Although at the moment Ntl’s e-mail service is goosed, has been a nationwide outage for last two days. π₯ So I am having to trawl the forum checking all the dates/times of posts ATM.
I think that a ‘subscribe to thread’ option is what Twoten was asking about.

Spot on.
Just a thought, I’m not sure about posting a thread saying “interesting” as you we could end up have quite a few ‘”interesting” posts, but I will try posting an “interesting” comment into a thread and then deleting with the edit button and see if it removes the ‘Notify me when a reply is posted’ comand.
A bit messy but maybe a workaround!

Well that didn’t work. If you hover the mouse over the edit button it says “edit/delete this post”.
When you click on it you get an option to edit it but no delete π .
I madea post in the “Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?” but couldn’t delete it. If anyone knows how I can do it let me know or if not can a moderator delete it for me?
Thanks,
Keith.

KeymasterIt was on the old version of phpBB but was removed on the upgrade for some insane reason that defies all logic. But this version is ever so slightly customised now and any of the security holes that are known about are plugged, so I don’t wanna mess with it as it’s not broke. π
