Seriously speaking (if I may for once – though I don’t often I know 😈 ) This blinding revelation is not going to change the UK marketing policies of the likes of Lever Bros & P&G. In that they will no doubt continue to market the 3 major powder variants and would not dare to support the findings of this latest research lest it caused a drop in demand of their products.
Enzymes and sensitive skin is by it’s very definition a touchy subject with the public at large. And any research that suggests that enzymes are safe to use will cut little ice with them no matter how loud you shout it about no matter how well founded these facts may be?
Only the other day here on UKW I read of someone with an allergy to aluminium, for gods sake! Until that point I’ve never heard such (seemingly?) rubbish, but apparently there’s loads of them out there with a similar complaint. :rolls:
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, laboratory research conclusions will always be held with certain reservations by any right minded person due historically incorrect findings of the past. Take the early findings of Thalidomide and the disasters that brought many. More recently the scientific testimonies based on forensic conclusions that put many innocent people in jail through incorrect DNA profiling?
One day in the newspapers is says that a glass of wine a day or a bar of chocolate is good for you. A week or two later they then say that red wine causes irreversible toxins to unborn children and chocolate brings early signs of dementia. All based, I’ve no doubt on scientific codswallop?
I’ve given up trying to tell my customers that biological powders are the only true way of cleaning their washing at low temperatures. I know that, you know that, but try telling someone who’s little infant son has a skin allergy and see what respect that will give you? Bugger all I bet you?

My Dad always used to say: “Beware of experts; they’re invariably wrong.”
