ParticipantHi
A while back I had the heater replaced in the above dishwasher, thanks to great advice here, after it had been standing idle for a few years.
It is working beautifully except for one thing…
No matter how carefully I rinse (or how heavily I nag His Nibs to rinse…), the spray arm nozzles regularly clog with particles of food, generally particles of nuts or seeds, which we eat a lot of.
It is insanely difficult to get the particles out. This morning it has taken me an hour to get them cleared !!! I have tried everything I can think of – pushing them through by sluicing, picking them out with needles and tweezers, shaking the arms like crazy, and trying to get them to float out of the centre hole. I always end up doing a combination of all these!
After this morning’s frenzy I started wondering why these particles are getting in there in the first place, and had a good look at the filters. There are a couple of issues that might contribute. Firstly the edges of the mesh on the micro-filter (the sleeve-like one) is not fully attached to its plastic framework top and bottom. Should it be stuck all round? Secondly, next to that filter in the well it sits in is a grey plastic ‘guide’ thing that is not attached to anything. I never know quite where to put it, and its function is unclear. Could this have come adrift from somewhere?
It’s not an urgent problem but I really want to avoid another repeat of the conversation that goes ‘I spent another hour cleaning the dishwasher today’ ‘Huh, I don’t know why we need a bloody dishwasher anyway, they are more trouble than they’re worth’. :rolls:
Cheers!

If the mesh isn’t sealed correctly then you will need to replace as the mesh and filters are there to stop your fault.

OK, I will try and stick the filter mesh back on with some silicone glue, and order a new filter assembly (£22 – ouch!) if that doesn’t work. Thanks for your help.

Gluing will NOT work. Replacing the whole filter unit WILL!
