    Hiya,

I am attempting to replace the base/lower element in the following oven:

    Manufacturer: New World
    Type: NW 90DFDO
    Model: 444447110
    Serial Nr.: 72615 0086

It’s the smaller right hand side oven that is causing problems. I have diagnosed the base element is faulty. It’s causing the electrics to trip when attached (no trip if disconnected).

First of all I’m having a hard time identifying the actual replacement. I think it’s this one:

Secondly, I can’t work out how to get to the old one to remove it. The massive back cover of the oven is off and I can see where the electrical points connect to the element in question and where it’s screwed in. However, I can’t see the actual element as it’s below the metal of the inside of the oven in a cavity and therefore unscrewing where it’s attached will just mean it will fall into the cavity it’s currently in.

Does anyone know how to remove it and whether I have the right part?

    Kind Regards,
    Darren

Yeah, looks to be the correct element in that machine.

Back off and the element will come out the back, you may need to shove some insulation out the way or suchlike but it’s normally fairly obvious once you get to it.

    Thanks for the response.

I’ve done some further investigation and finally worked it out. All the youtube video I found explain exactly what you described, slide out from the back.

Not in this case. 2 screws as the back hold in an insulated tray underneath the element. Unscrewing those, I could the wiggle the tray free and can now see the element. Now I just need to work out how to get the screw that is just turning out…..drill methinks!
