I went to a Bosch WFF2000GB/01 yesterday, complaint: Not spinning!

As it was 10 years old I went straight for the motor, but it was perfect, no faults. Checked the pump…faultless! Plugged machine back in, switched on and it will only fill and empty 🙁

Took me ages to figure it out (and to cut a long story short ) it turned out to be the neutral cable connector in the WALL SOCKET not screwed in onto the copper wire. Therefore 240 volts was showing up on test but as soon as more current was required it just stuck on spin only pumping away but the motor relay on the module would not kick in!!!

Seems a bit strange that Martin , if it was loosing its neutral supply how was the pump still running 😕

Oh there was power enough to run the pump, in fact the customer told me it was stuck on spin for over 2 hours just pumping! So the supply was OK until extra amps was required, then the black lead in the socket started to arc….I tightened the screw and away it went 😀

Had this on a Hotpoint WM63 once, As soon as it started heating it just stopped dead 😯 .

Exactly the same thing, as soon as it wanted some big current jobbies to heat it just arced and stopped. Took socket off the wall and there it was, live just hanging on by a thread.
