We have a Beko fridge freezer which is approx 4 years old, it had a new motor a couple of years ago. We keep this fridge in our integral garage and have noticed an odd smell around it (not in it). The smell isn’t anything rotting or food orientated its actually difficult to describe sort of metallic sort of celery like. The fridge freezer seems to be working ok, although I think the thermostat might not be working too well as things ice up in the fridge at times. Any ideas what this may be? Thanks

Have you checked on the Beko web site that yours isn’t included in that recall? You may recall the media hype over Beko’s catching fire? The defrost thermostat at the back giving issues etc etc?

    Hi

Pour about 30ml of Miltons baby fluid down the drip channel at the back of the fridge as the majority of smells is due to debris going down this and then it evaporates and then produces smells. Unless you can pull the fridge freezer out and you should see a plastic tray on top of the compressor ( big black metal thing ) this might have water in it. If it does then wipe it out and put some of the milton fluid into it and leave it there and put the fridge freezer back.
