Product no. 91400209601 s/n 04738487
Motor starts, gives a short burst then quits. I went straight for tacho but found no fault there. Followed motor wiring back to board and found this where the tacho wires connect, along with apparently tarnished connector pins.
Trouble is, R54 has gone o/c and, what’s worse lost its inscription 🙁 .
This is an EWM2000 board. Have an old EWM1000 but it’s too different.
Any body got an old one to hand they could look at?

Looking at pictures again, I wonder if that was a small insect with severe depression that committed suicide there and thus caused the problem.

Not impossible I suppose. I might ask him if he did that; he wasn’t at home when I called. There is some sign of a light coloured residue at the top of the board around the relays. Have often seen this sort of thing on perfectly functioning boards though.

Urgent question: If I got a new board for him, would I be able to programme it from the fascia buttons or would it only be programmable by a Lux engineer?

Thanks Martin; hold off for now. Can’t get hold of customer to find out what he wants to do. Rather doubt I’ll have to go that route anyway, since machine is 10/11 years old and the board retails at £116.

No big red label on the old one. Assume there will be one on the new.
Had already looked at TDS disc and could not figure out how to access the pdf entitled service manual and none present on Connect for this model. 😕

Edit: OK I got the manual anyway. Just had to use keyboard on Connect to scroll down and reveal previously invisible options. Looks like a worse nightmare than trying to repair the old one.Re: Oh no! Another electronic nightmare. AEG La72630 EWM2000
Assuming that it’s LAV72630 PNC:914002092_02 than config. code is: 261C169B15C1C7A4 (you can check it by putting the old board and go into service mode at configuration stage and check bit by bit…).
In order to repair the old board you need: R54(123)=12K; R53(330)=33 Ohms; R52(473)=47K; D15= 1N4148; Q7(5Cp)=BC807/40. But also you have to remove all relays from the board and do an clean/wash with alcohol and afterwards to check tacho generator from motor for its condition…

Baron, you are brilliant! I’ll go straight ahead and order the components and leave the new module/configuration lark as a last resort. I did suspect R53 (reading open) and the others and was going to test them. Also I see the big relay with the clear plastic cover looks quite blackened which is only to be expected given age of machine. Might as well replace all relays if I’m going to remove them and make a proper job of it.

Isn’t necessary to change all relays at all 🙂 … just the transparent one you have to remove it from PCB, open and clean his contacts with glass-paper! it is the ‘Heater Relay’ and therefore is a bit dirty :snigger: !!!Re: Oh no! Another electronic nightmare. AEG La72630 EWM2000

I looked again and checked the configuration code for your PNC (because I didn’t saw 😳 that you wrote it…) but it is identical

Anyway, the 33 ohm smd resistors were expensive for some reason so I ordered a normal axial one (same spec) which there is room for. And I’m going to remove a diode from an old board as the new ones looked different and were also a bit pricey as you have to buy 100.
Hopefully won’t need that config code this time round.

Mike.Put there any smd resistor around that value… for ex.: 22 or 47 or 56 … it does not matter because is just for current protection…

Mike.Is not all the time about money… but it’s much quicker and cheaper so I don’t want to enlarge my store with all kind of unnecessary components (in my repairman live I did not changed more than three pieces of those relays but sealed type a lot)…
