    😥
My beloved Zanussi ZBS703W needed a bit of a spring clean
so I got the Oven Cleaners in.
I have just come to use it 2 days later and the temperature on the display constantly reads 30 even though it has been set to 200, and the oven is definately heating us as we had very crispy oven chips tonight. My hubby is an engineer and willing to fix it but we’re not sure which part we need. I thought it would have a thermastat but I’ve scoured all the Zanussi parts shops on the web and none show a thermostat for this oven.

Does anyone have this diamond piece of information that could point us in the right direction.

    Hi BT,

You can’t find a thermostat because there isn’t one used on this machine, it’s controlled by a probe and electronics. The probe in the oven is part number 5031682725030 and its a whopping £53 plus VAT from the first supplier I looked at although Dave will most likely be able to source one a bit cheaper.

However, this being an electronic job, the fault may well lie elsewhere with either the touch board or the main control/relay card which is listed as 5031687623843 @ £153 ex VAT and shipping. Again Dave will likely get that cheaper, you can get him on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Not cheap and, I’d suggest strongly that you don’t “guess” at this one as you have those two choices and the third option of the display card and the timer. Any of the above sending an errant signal could be the problem and that’s just the obvious culprits I picked out from the spares info, I’m sure I recall a stat or TOC causing this sort of thing on a very similar AEG oven before.

Hope that helps a bit even if it’s not what you wanted to hear.

    K.

    Many Thanks K,

The Hubby’s “gone to put his head in the oven” to look for the probe !!!
    So we’ll persue this option.
