What’s the oldest applaince you’ve ever worked on, in the last year!

I know we’ve talked about Bendix LT’s before, but this was brought into my shop today. 😯 I know Nelson/Burnley is a little old-fashioned but, ffs…

The best bit is… I actually have the parts to fix it.

But I know if I do, there’s a very old lady somewhere (judging by the husband) that will have to push this half-ton of metal around again 😕

Or should I buy it off them , to sell to the British museum in the future? 8)

I get the odd Kirby from that era. 🙄 I see ancient washing machines with wringers on the top now and again but have never been asked to work on one.

Chances are, if you still get the parts it will still be going long after that plastic heap at the side of it has expired.

    Re: OLD appliances

having spent too long last week on two, 25 year old belling format (3 re calls on one of them and the other was a “by the way, can you put a new bulb in the console light while you are here”, nothing winds me up more than those fluerescent tubes, I have in some cases replaced everything and they still flicker, dont come on or whatever. Anyway, back to the point, I seem to be spending too much time on old stuff that should be scrapped and its costing me each time a screw head strips or the clock buttons break just because I looked at it, and the obsolete parts etc, not to mention the recalls.
