I’ve noticed lots of machines being left for weeks at the side of the road recently.
In the roads around here there’s a double oven, washer and dryer that have been left outside people’s houses for about a month now. They were being collected in minutes a few months ago.
What a mess!.I know metal prices are at a all time low, with loose iron, less than £30 per ton makes it not viable to collect.
Just wondered if you guys are seeing the same around the country?

Funnily enough, I saw a fridge on its head on the way home tonight.

That’s the price you pay for discouraging Travellers settling in your area.

I left out an old metal caravan step on the other day and it was gone within half an hour. Depends on where you live and scrap metal are still being collected daily.
I get £2 for dishwasher, £4 for washing machine when I take it to scrap yard. It’s so low that I started charging customers a disposal fee whenever I supply and install new appliances.

After putting a few ads on facebook i’ve managed to collect around 30 appliances in the last two weeks – all for free. And id say about 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are good for reconditioning. Why pay for raw when its out there for free !

They are sharp round here…. so fast i keep the front door locked…if they seen my washer aint on….its gone!
