    just caught the tale end of my local news they were doing a report on a phillips dryer thats been in use since 1964 when they showed the dryer it was a 6ib model brown plastic facia brown plastic door with smoked perspex bowl surely an early 80 s model were they tellin porky s or is my memory fading sorry no model details just hoping some one else saw it cheers cras :rolls:

    it looked like a d163 model.

    it was the early 80;s model the ones prior to that used to have a stainless facia panel if memory serves me correct

    Same article in the Daily Mail last week, Not an expert on Philips but no way was that a 1964 model. I do have a 1985 Creda TD in the garage which I was a bit disappointed in having to fit a second T.O.C in ten years, Would have complained to the manufactures, But of course they don’t exist anymore 🙁

    Youuld have told them that it must be a design fault.

    Then write and complain to watchdog because they told you to f***off.

    Must admit I was peed off having to replace a 1982 creda debonair tumble drier which had a timer burnt out and in a rage broke the door.
    Even more upset was that the model number had totally disappeard.
