Old R12 Canisters

    Hi
    I am moving house in the very near future, and came across 2 very old R12 canisters from the distant past as I was clearing the garage.
    Since I have not got involved in refrigeration for many years I don’t know how to dispose of them legally.
    Can anyone advise me as to who would take them in ?

    BOC would take them but would charge you as it is no longer legal to use.

    The veteran car clubs like to have concourse cars that are original and if a car has air conditioning running on R12 and filled with R12 they get extra points.

    If it is just empty canisters they may also want them to display.

    Just saying as R12 would be worth a fortune to them not that anyone would top up there cars illegally. And must have old systems that never leak. 😮
