will this work?
it had managed to blow the compete track off one side so rather than lay a track of solder down to the connecter, im hoping to mate the 2 flying leads to the wires on the connector from the loom.
the miele is at least 15 y/o and cust wants to keep it as a 2nd machine for doggy stuff and sports kit but wasnt willing to spend the £140 odd quid for the pleasure 🙂

bridging out blown tracks will only work if you know why they have blown
as with most miele units the wiring sheets are inside
trace blown track to see what it feeds its better than a big bang when you turn back onDave

oh yeah, of course just like when you get a board back from emw theres often a reason why it went. i didnt actually go out to see this one tho so cant say where the loom heads to, its just ive got the taste for a bit of pcb repairing now, and need the confidence that you guys give with your support that tells you your on the tight track, or doing a complete no-no 🙂

Have come across this before & luckily been able to repair with a soldering iron, think leak from soap dispenser or door gasket can cause the problem

Well I do know someone in Yorkshire who paid over £3k for a commercial Miele with a 12 month g/tee for average domestic use. 😯
But Higher Water Level does not sound like a ‘normal’ Yorkshireman, have you ever heard ‘Tykes motto’. 😆

Only just seen this. Did you figure out what blew it? Maybe like Seamy says, leak from soap disp or holed seal hits door lock and bang. If there are push button switches on the other side of that pcb they may also be damaged. If it’s the pcb with a yellow button for door opening, maybe they can do without that and just use the emergency pull tab by the filter.

we think it was external factors, until i get back to it i cant be sure, but there wasnt a hurry on for this repair, will keep you updated though, switchgear seems to check out and theres not much else other than solder on the pcb, so no reason for it to “not” work. problem with htis switchbank iirc is the track also affects the on/off, so no track, no worky 🙂

Had a < 5 y.o.(not sure exact age) Miele do something similar with its on/off pcb a few months back. Customer was a fully-fledged electrician yet even with our two heads working together for two hours we didn't manage to get the machine going again. (At least I still got paid for trying.) When I left he was still convinced it would be righted by simply getting a new pcb/switch. I wasn't convinced of that but left him to it. Never heard what happened. Mind you that was a more "electronic" machine.
