I have just had this PM from sparepart You may recall he got involved in some rather awkward discussions when it appeared he was not turning out to do work that had been found for him by another forum member.

I had noticed this Avatar being used by geoffmackay and was a little puzzled by it but didn’t see it as a problem at the time, I still don’t really.

I have asked sparepart if he has a problem with this rather than just being a bit miffed. I suppose if he does have strong objections then a quick word with Geoff would be in order.

What do you think?

my name is sparepart, I want to ask why geoffmackay is using a picture of my old shop as his avitar as I use it as my avitar , I have all the pictures of my old shop on my computer and can prove it was mine, I certainly never sold him my shop and in fact I closed it down completley
and I cant see why he copied and knicked my picture ? but thats been my avitar scince I joined this site

He’s just PM’d me exactly the same message but a little stronger:

I’m a little bit peeed off , geoffmackay has used my shop as his avitar as to which he has no right to use that as he neither bought my shop nor has anything to do with it, I asked Iadom to deal with this but he hasnt , I wish no malice but I have all the pictures to my shop …lease included and if he doesnt remove the avitar then I will sue , I am sorry for my words and actions but I hope you will understand ,

no , it will cause problems , thats my shop, an I have proof of that, so I can use your avitar ? my pictures are posted eleswhere and watermarked , I may take this further , I asked for sense ,

I have since PM’d Geoff to see if he will consider changing his avatar but have also told him that if he wants to tell sparepart to go jump in a lake he can do. :rolls:

Geoff has kindly agreed to change his avatar, however, I did offer to download the picture of spareparts shop, edit with Paint Shop to alter all the colours and post it back up for Geoff to use. 👿 😆

Bugger it, why dont we all change ours to a the shop avatar and piss him off 👿

The guy uploads an avatar to a website then says he is going to sue, what a plonker. There has and still is a few members using the same avatar and he should be told to go forth or the avatar should be deleted so no one can use it. Martin kindly did my ST Andrews cross and it seems a few Scottsih members are using it as well, maybe Martin should charge a rental fee, I will quite happily buy him a drink at Sibson for his troubles 😆

I can see no reason why he (or anyone else) would “steal” a picture with deliberate intent to annoy you to be honest unless you know each other and there is some “history” between you ?

I don’t think there is any history, from the reply that I got from Geoff, he just saw the picture and decided to use it. He is from the Carlisle area. many miles from Nottingham and a quick scan through some of spareparts posts, in particular the ones when he was given work by another member and let them down badly, show that Geoff did not comment on them.

I like my new avatar, I wonder how long it will take sparepart to suss it. :rolls: 😆

My Point was that people could construe that he was or is involved with me or I with him ? when that is not the case ? there was a private reason to all this one in which he dosent realise, the pictures of my shop are plastered all over another site in which the content is of a “private Party” held there , it matters not as most people are not allowed on this site , I’ll redo my avatar and watermark it , but I cant understand his logic , I am just about to open a very big shop, so will that give people the right to copy that ? I apologise for my rant but I went through a lot with that shop, and I just find it offensive to copy my avatar, my Ex wife held gang bang parties there behind my back an plastered the pics on a smutty site, so consequently I had all manor of men in my shop for the wrong reason ! rant over and thanks for your help , best regards , Alan
