I did PM him about six months ago asking after his health etc. He said that he had been snowed under with work. It won’t do any harm to ask again.

IIRC, Pup came along to the Birmingham meeting. He’s an Indian gent with rather poor English.

KeymasterRe: QED ?
I already PM’d Helo thanking him for that post, it’s an absolute belter and I told him so. I also told him that he said there what I wish I could say, but from him it just carries so much weight it’s unreal.
We’re never going to threaten Indesit (he says) but it’s nice to see that the ethics of ISE are not wasted and that post serves to tell me that we’re doing something that’s just “right”. I just love the fact that we’re not screwing people over to do it, the agents or customers, both get a fair shake and I think that goes a long way to contributing to the attitude we see toward ISE.
Now, who said you had to screw people over to make your way….
Oh, that would be some dude from Rotherham. 😆

The ISE point is interesting – Rob is never going to see or work on an ISE in a professional capacity, yet even he can see what it’s about.

The bu@@er’s just won the D&G awards again, hasn’t he? I’ll stop at that point.

KeymasterHeh Martin I thought you’d have latched more onto the fact that kiddo66 says that even they don’t have full technical info on the Hotperloni’s rather than a go at the engineer debate going on.
TBH it’s brilliant IMO as it’s showing just what level of service and quality people can expect from Hotpoint (Indesit) these days.

Oh I took in everything that has been said so far, I really have. But you know, it is unfortunate that whenever an employee of Indesit stick their head above the parapet the guns are blazing out!
A while back a guy stood up for Hoover/Gias and the same thing happened. Fortunately that all went off in the trade forums, this one is in full public gaze. I know there are points to be made and said on both sides of any argument, but no-one wins in any case.
A more pragmatic approach towards all that enter the fray is by far the better option. “Be nice” part of the “Rules” of UKW and moderation leads to cooperation rather than alienation. Kiddo66 may not be done yet but I guarantee he will say his bit and be gone forever sooner rather than later. Any cooperation between all aspects of the trade has to be encouraged and if the WTA ideals are to be met we need all to participate, even Mr kiddo66. 😉

KeymasterNobody’s being nasty really and I think that, sadly, when the OEM engineers do raise their heads above the parapet they attempt to defend the indefensible a lot of the time, that’s the problem. Aside from which they often don’t do that in a particularly sympathetic tone all too often.
This would appear to be the case here in that kiddo has, more or less, asked for it.
The short of it is, if you’re gonna shoot your mouth off then make sure you say clearly that it is you opinion only, you present a sound and reasoned comment/s or that you have facts to back up your comments.
In the end though you either allow freedom of expression or you don’t. We do. 😉
