ParticipantWell, what can i say…Great forum.I wish to kill 2 birds with one stone. My old washer has give up the ghost(after realising Hoover is in fact Candy i’m not suprised). It was a Hoover six 1300 btw. From what i can gather from my search here, for my budget of 250-350 quid i believe i’m better of opting for zanussi or bosch..Am i right on this? What’s more, my old fridge freezer broke down and due to the fact that Hotpoint said it was beyond repair, it was replaced with a new Servis(model m0330w-1) with the min, med and max led’s at the upper right hand of the unit.Is this a reputable manufacturer in terms of refrigeration goods, or is it precisely the opposite in your opinion? Many thanks for any feedback.Damian.

Hi Damian
With regards to the washing machinbe replacement, yep deffinately Bosch and then the Zanussi products. Servis refrigeration is not one of the best around hence the budget price point, life span not very good I`m afraid. Hoptpoint, Zanussi and Bosch again or if you can go the extra mile then Liebherr 😉

Further to this, i decided to buy the Bosch WAA24162GB from Comet. It was reduced from £300 to £255 so we couldn’t resist. To anyone reading this, do you think we’ve made the right decision in terms of our £300 budget?Cheers.

If Customer service is of any concern to you ignore Hotpoint, (and indesit as they too are part of hotpoint). Purchased Hotpoint fridge freezer arrived with one damaged part the retailer wanted me to contact Hotpoint direct for exchange. Hotpoint do not answer their phones nor e-mails. Eventually with great difficulty the manufacturer got through to them and arranged the replacement part. Will take five to ten days to arrive. We haven’t even switched the fridge on. It was delivered 31st July 08. Another problem was noticed, again same problem getting beyond hotpoints automated service. They are iimpossible. I am only sorry that I also purchased a Hotpoint washing machine too. Haven’t unwrapped that yet but goodness what challenges will there be there?
Buy Zannusii, Bosch, or Neff great customer service especially Zanussi.

If i can’t get my crapheap of a “Servis” fridgefreezer functional sometime soon, i will DEFINATELY be paying for a bit of good old Bosch. Sorry to fetch a 1yr+ thread back to life, but i feel credit is unreservedly deserved here. I’ve done some calculation on paper and realised that my budget Bosch washing machine as done between 340-380 cycles without a single glitch, and it runs as quiet as a brushless motor. LONG LIVE BOSCH

For my 2 pennyworth ive always found h/p service a-ok as long as your the retailer! being indie, i have the direct line for indie retailer issues, and after ringing, im connected with a tele-girl within 3-4 mins max of being on hold, and they are never too short on experience to help!
As long as my query meets h/p’s c/s criteria i dont have a problem sorting out things for a customer. Tbh burnsey unless the person you bought off of is a multiple, any problem is largely down to your retailer heel digging or having a very poor relationship with h/p!!!
the only issue in 6 years thATS soured my relations with h/p was with a f.free f/f they are refusing to exchange because its past 3 months, and cos the cust initially refused an exchange, something where im told hte engineer virtually gave her no option other than to refuse! and its somehting ongoing so im hoping and expecting it will be sorted out with c/s in the very near future!!!
