ParticipantHi there,
My ISE 10 (1607W) has developed a leak from its drum seal. I have been in touch with kwatt and he says that there’s no stock of that part in the country just now and my wife will likely not tolerate being without a machine for an unknown number of weeks!
I am therefore looking for a replacement machine. I’m very much of a “buy once, cry once” philosophy which is probably why I ended up buying into the ISE ethos in the first place, so don’t mind paying for quality.
Looking at the current offerings from ASKO, they are priced similarly to Miele stuff, does anyone have an opinion as to the current quality given they’re now owned by Hisense and manufactured in Slovenia?
The other question is if I was to get another ASKO, what’s the situation with parts availability? One of the possible upsides of the Hisense takeover is they may now have a better parts distribution network, although perhaps that’s wishful thinking.
The current ASKO machines come with a 5 year parts and labour warranty and Miele don’t seem to be offering any of their warranty promotions at the moment. Decisions…
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Cheers,
Euan.

ModeratorAsko appliances which were once a top end Scandinavian brand which made good machines to a high standard. More recently they were taken over by Gorenje a Slovenian manufacturer who in turn are owned by Hisense a Chinese company.
On paper everything looks great, I would however like to see them just to feel the quality. I would try your local Euronics store for the best advice https://www.euronics.co.uk/store-finder

ParticipantThanks Don, I got a good deal on a brand new Asko with a 5 year warranty so will wait and see what that’s like when it arrives. I did consider going with a Miele but they are not currently doing any warranty promotions so i’d be stuck on a 2 year warranty and then of course locked into them for any repairs after that.
