ParticipantMy daughter is setting up home and needs a washer, fridge-freezer and a cooker.
She likes the idea of Beko products all round, but I’m wary of what I’ve heard about safety and reliability.
I quite like the look of Kenwood for fridge or maybe Daiwoo?
Our own fridge-freezer (Bosch) has packed up prematurely, so we are going to have to get a new one for us as well.
With four :bang: expensive purchases to make, what do forum members think of the current market choices out there?April 14, 2018 at 7:11 pm #455371don

Hi
Beko products are about the best products in their price range. They are easy to repair, spares are reasonably priced and the build is good.
Most brands over the years have had a safety issue or two which has been mainly due to cutting corners by manufacturers and large retailers in order to satisfy a price point.
Kenwood is a badge name for Currys exclusively and made mainly in China, not the best of products at the price. Daewoo is a shrinking brand in the UK whcich is not in many retail outlets.
Beko is a good option for spread of product groups and options within each.

For years we were exclusively Bosch. Our main Bosch freezer and (now drinks) fridge are 20 years and fine. We went upmarket to Lebherr for new kitchen and impressed, BUT the point of this is that we wanted a cheaper freezer for the garage and got a Beko 7 years ago. It was a fraction of the cost of the other stuff and has been fantastic. Well made, performs really well and I would buy their stuff again.

Im looking for a cooker for my parents and i might go with A Beko one £300 ish before discounts
Dont get a hotpoint cooker. Issues with oven not reaching temperature. My brother an myself bought Hotloint cookers 4 years apart. Same issue.
I use a countertop hinged lid halogen oven. They heat up in moments, take less time to cook things and have self cleaning. They cost less to run as well.
I think i was £60 for it.So if she got one of those shed only need a 4 ring worktop. If she uses gas it will be 2 thirds cheaper than an electric cooker.
I wouldn’t by a Beko fridge freezer as the fridge isnt as cold as it should be. Parents had to get one due to space constraints. Only 1 that would fit. They only used 1 pump etc instead of 2 to save costs
. If she has the space. Think about a Chest freezer and Fridge. I bought largest Samsung fridge freezer i could afford at the time and the freezer compartment isnt big enough. If you freeze bread etc.
Samsung or LG for fridge/ freezer. Any descent rated chest freezer with lots of ratings woukd be fine. It only has a few moving parts.
For washing machine id get hotpoint. Use ao. Com after visiting Topcashback for a percentage back. They also have price match and 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of with code paydaysothing. Then after a few years or after the quarantee runs out sell the washing machine and replace with new. Fridge after 4 years or warranty and if its an electric cooker. After Warranty or after 5 years or 10 if your wanting to have a bigger gamble.
Ive tried getting my dad to do this but not having it. And now the cookers grill is broke in a 1995 model. I already replaced the top ovens thermostat and heating element. The thermostats was the worst to replace
This way. You mostly have working white goods and make money selling the old ones and no expenses for getting rid of uselss fridges etc.
