oven constantly heating

this is a new one on me whats it likely to be? apparently estate agent said its heating albeit low constantly when not on is it likely to be thermostat?

Can’t rule it out at this point that’s for sure. Don’t forget to check also the link between the selector switch and the stat as the stat could have fallen off the back? Get your megger and loop tester ready to check all avenues of possibility…..good luck! 🙂 😉

have a few with element constantly on even when switched off, traced fault to selector switch with welded contacts, the old hotpoints were bad for it, seen a few range cookers, bekos and diplomats with similar fault recently.

Took the words out of my mouth commutator/selector switch. Had them turn them selves on also.
