ParticipantHi,
I’m new here and I hope somebody can give me some advice.
I have a Leisure LEVC67W, it has a digital clock; I’ve had it for appr. 2.5 years (needless to say, it’s out of warranty).
Since last Christmas, every time when there’s been a power failure, the oven is dead, no light, no fan, no heat. I know about resetting the clock, so that’s not it. All the other functions of the cooker are not affected. And the funny thing is, when I keep turning the oven knob now and then to try, at some point the oven springs suddenly back to life again. This usually happens after a few hours up to a few days. Then the oven is again fully functional and works each time I switch it on without fail – until the next power cut, that is.
At the moment the oven is again not working, and we’re having little power glitches daily, so there’s not much chance.
Am I right that there’s something wrong with the timer, some wobbly connection perhaps? Is there something I can do easily myself about it? If not, can anyone tell me how much the repair by an engineer could cost me? (I live in Cumbria.)
Thanks in advance for any constructive replies.

It does sound like it could be a timer fault, but, just as an off chance pull the knob of and have a look see if the knob is not worn and slipping round on the selector switch shaft. Might even be the switch but without seeing it etc I can’t really tell.
I don’t know how much a local engineer to you would cost and unfortunately I’m not local but you can search for a local engineer on here.Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve had a look, but the knob seems to be alright, at least to my technically inexperienced eyes. And if the knob was worn, why would the fault only happen after a power out?

I was just hoping it was coincidence and a simple repair for you to do yourself. As I say it was an off chance, so if everything else seems ok I would be looking towards the timer.
