ParticipantMy wife turned on the oven last night and it went pop. I have checked the power supply and the wires are live. Some of the internal cables on top of the oven appear to be live so it isn’t a supply issue. Therefore I assume there must be some fuse blown or something needs re-setting. Can anyone help?

That’s a bit harsh Helo. 😉
It’s going to be a fuse or thermal cut out somewhere most likely and all you can do is meter it out to find out where and what one is causing the problem.

Uhm, perfectly safe if you know how to use voltage tracer.! You do not open up the oven it remains completely sealed.
I think you’ll find you don’t have a clue so don’t both trying to help.

Kwatt, I will stick my meter on it on the weekend. I was wondering if anyone had any quicker solutions.
Thanks.

No quick fix, no internal fuses and TOC would not kill the oven dead.
I’m with Helo, call an expert.
As always, no live testing. Power off if bodging :zap:

Understand clearly that as a public forum, the prime consideration is safety. Your opening post was ambiguous to say the least – you may be perfectly confident with your ability, but a future reader with a similar problem may not be……….
Kwatt’s advice is the only realistic way of solving the problem – chase it round with the meter.
And, because I have to, power off at all times, please.

Hi Gregg
If you can post the full model number off the appliance itself and advise which oven your wife was using when it went pop, that would aid us greatly 😀
It may just be an element that has popped, some do, some go quietly 😉
Un plug appliance if you are to investigate :plug:Greg

Hi,
I have just had the exact same thing happen to me with my NEFF B1641.
Can you tell me what the problem was with yours in the end, and how you sorted it out?
Ta.
