ParticipantHello
I’m trying to track down why the machine drips water from both sides of the door.
I have inspected all the seals around the door and the one that joins the base of the door and the tray. All seem OK.
On inspection doing a wash with the front of the door removed the problem can be seen. What causes the dripping is the froth on the water slowly appearing at both bottom corners of the door where the bottom seals meet up with the side door seals. When I open the door the actual water level is still below the top of the bottom tray lip.
What should the correct water level be when washing, whats the best way of checking it.
Can I check that the input valve is shutting off completely.
Can I check/adjust the water level sensor.
Is there a recommended input mains water pressure.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Hello Mike and Jim
Thanks for the comments.
Let me tell you what I found, I stopped the machine during the wash cycle to check the water level and noticed that one of the 4in1 tablets was not completely disolved. I also noticed that there was still residue of foam in the machine when the rinse cycle had stopped.
I discussed these issues with my daughter (its her machine) and thought it could be because we had run the machine with a tablet in place but no dirty dishes for it to wash.
She assured me that she had always used the same tablets for the last 12 months or so with no problems. She uses no salt, we are in a soft water area.
I’ll do a further live test using just powder or even a dummy run with no powder to see if that solves the problem.
Thanks

Using the modern detergents (tablets or powder) will indeed cause foaming, though this is counteracted by the food soils when a load of dirty dishes is washed.
Even rinsing dishes in the sink can cause foaming in the machine, due to lack of food residues. Most tablets are designed for a full dishwasher, with normal-to-heavy soiling.
Incidentally, a brand new dinner service has to be washed before use: wash it by hand, the first time. This is because the dust and grime will not be successfully removed by a dishwasher (designed for food removal); and furthermore tablets have a propensity to foam, resulting in a poor wash. (This applies to new cutlery too). I know, because I’ve done it!
Try running the dishwasher on the “Rinse & Hold” cycle (might be called “Prerinse” on the Hotpoint) several times, this will rinse the foam out and give an indication of whether it still leaks when circulating water alone.

Will take onboard what you have said and also do a few more runs with various levels of dirty contents, will also flush it out and try without any powder or tablets.
