I moved into a new house a few months ago which has a Diplomat oven. It has one large oven and six gas rings. When I try and use the fan setting is never heats up and takes an age to heat up on the normal setting so the indicator light rarley goes off. Most worrying is the outside stainless steel body of the oven and hob gets red hot, so much so that I have to then use a tea towel over my hand to use the hob nobs! I think the oven is about three years old. I am guessing from this site that it is an MFI product, I have not yet approached them. Has anyone else has these problems. I am also concerned about the amount of energy it must be wasting.

I would advise you to contact MFI to get their (CORGI Registered) engineer to call and inspect the oven. You will need to give them the model number to confirm it is a Diplomat? (Model numbers do tell us a lot you know 😉 )

Sounds to me like it needs a new fan element as well as a good safety inspection?
