thanks Penguin45
when it is daylight i am going to remove the back shield and look at the element and surrounding area for any problems there
i think although the stat indicator light is going off as the temperature rises the actual temperatures could be not quite as the settings saycant really see how to get the front panel off..there are two little humps on the top but no screws underneath …so i guess its ‘clipped’ on with the two humps as locating points??
can you comment on that

Probably a couple of screws from the back – all will be obvious with the top off.
Random cycling and heat errors is definitley a thermostat problem. It’s a gas capliiary gadget, so it’s probably lost some gas.

It’s a built-in oven isn’t it? Remove from housing, remove top panel.

thanks again
i can see 2 screws on each flange down the front screwed into the kitchen unit.
when i remove these i suspect the casing will pull out
didnt think i would need to go to all that extent
but it may help me to learn some more new skills
cheers
we are having christmas today because of family commitments on christmas and boxing day elsewhere
so the turkey crown is in the oven now
will tackle this later
god bless and happy christmas…the real one
cheers
