    Hi guys and galls 😀

A property management company has asked me if I will safty check the appliances in their rented properties.

I have no experience of this and would be gratefull if someone could advise me what is needed equipment wise and how to charge.

I assumed this type of testing was carried out by specialists and if this is the case do we have any on this site?.

    Thanks.

    Chris.

You will, of course need a PAT tester prices for which range from around £300 up to £1500, calibration certificate for tester will also be required as well as either computer software or hand written logs of results, labels etc and most of all lots of time as you will need to test literaly everything with a plug on it. Not sure of the going rate for this now but its usually a set up charge and a per item cost.

    Hi
We took an electrical appliance testing course at our local Technical College.
I am sure u will need this qualification before you can begin testing.

    Hi Guys,
just did the course before xmas as i was going to offer this service but after get qualified city & guilds 2377 inspection and testing of electrical equipment which is the easy bit , the most inportant bit is the time it takes to do it and the equipment needed just dont have the time and can earn more repairing appliances and repairs are not boring , pat testing is ok if thats all you are doing but im sure you would soon get fed up of it. 🙂
